our beloved prophet may Allah's peace and blessing be on him has once said "A man will tell the truth and keep telling the truth until he is written as truthful in Allah's eyes, and a man will lie and keep lying untill he is written as a lire in Allah's eye"
Problem:
The problem as you might have guessed already is lying. It is so scary how I lie so much that I don't just convenes the people that I am lying to that I am telling the truth, but I also convenes myself that I am telling the truth. I lie about everything, even the littlest things that I don't need to lie about I just find myself lying without any reason at all (not that there is any reason to lie at all). It is really such a bad habit that I really need to stop. Part of the problem is that your parent tell you never to lie, but what do they say when the phone rings and it is someone they don't want to talk to "tell them I am not here". A message to all the parents please if you don't want your kids to lie at least try not to lie in front of them.
Solution:
Still unknown to me. If anyone has a solution please post it in the comment area.
If you ever tell a lie... no matter how small, try to immediately admit in front of the person you are talking to that you lied and apologize. After you do that 2-3 times, you won't lie again or at least as often because you will be so ashamed at having to admit it to someone. It'll help you realize how petty it is to lie. Inshallah this helps bro.

ReplyDeleteThe part with parents not practicing what they preach is obviously the problem. But that goes out to all of us, we tend to penalize others for mistakes we as individuals do too. Is there good form of lying? or is lying just bad? what do you think.
ReplyDeleteWhen Allah and his prophet forbid lying they didn't specify which kind of lying, it was lying in general, so to my believe it doesn't matter what the consequence of telling the truth is in this dunia, it wouldn't be as bad as the consequence in the day of judgment from lying
